What?
This an awesome Pop Art lesson. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. It is very structured, yet also provides opportunity for creative and individual style. The students loved making a poster style painting of one of there favourite characters. To see how the turned out check the “Student work section”!
Why?
The idea started with input from the class; we had a vote on which fictional character (fictional writing unit connection) they wanted to create. The students were very invested in project they helped plan. I designed the activity demonstrate how simple shapes and forms and can be used to make characters. I often encourage the class to use shapes to help them draw objects or characters.
Materials?

- Black Markers
- Coloured Paper
